Peter, the Elder b. 1710 - we don't know where d. 1816 - we don't know where - no info on spouse. What we know about Peter came from letters written by his great-grandson, Ira Francis Marion Butler who was b. in 1812. Ira wrote the two letters at ages 84 and 87 and we know that his recollections were not completely accurate.
John, Sr. b. abt. 1755 - m. Mary "Polly" Dixon about 1777. It has been suggested by other researchers that they were probably married in Bedford or Botetourt Co., VA. John died in Wayne Co., IL about 1835. John is likely one of Peter's youngest children, but we have no knowledge of any siblings.

1-Elizabeth b. 1778 - probably Botetourt Co., VA m. Jesse McGuire 1796 Mercer Co., KY d. Benton Co., IA
2-Anne b. 1779 - probably Botetourt Co., VA m. David McGuire 1797 Mercer Co., KY - Ira mentioned one of John's daughters being married to a Black. He may have been Anne's second husband. This is a theory based on the fact that McGuire researchers have been able to document Elizabeth and Jesse to their deaths in Iowa. However, they lost track of David and Anne after the two families moved to Henry Co., KY.

4-John, Jr. b. abt 1785 - probably Greenbrier Co., WVA m. Anny Chapman 1804 Barren Co., KY d. 1841 Wayne Co., IL - M-0017

9-William b. abt 1794 Mercer Co., KY m. Nancy Chapman 1819 Barren Co., KY d. abt 1854 Warren Co., IL. Chapman researchers aren't sure of Nancy's relationship to Anny.
