We have traced our line back to Jethro Butler born abt. 1725 in Bertie County NC, died 1761, Duplin County, NC. He was married (1759) to Rachael Ratcliff, born about 1725 in Andebies Creek, Talbot MD, and died in SC. They had one son b. 1761, in Bertie Co. NC and named Jethro Butler. The father died in 1761 and the mother and son moved to SC, Lynches Creek. After fighting in the Revolution he migrated to Ga, then Miss, and finally to Louisiana where he died 1841. I obtained his revolutionary war pension records from the National Archives.
